Banff - Chap 3

Well, sorry its been a while but we've been having a few internet issues. Anna has been working since Monday while I have become a house hubby, and a very efficient one at that. I have actually become a mountaineer. I conquered two mountains in three days. Cliff (a friend we have met from Victoria) and I climbed Sulfur Mountain (5500 feet) on Tuesday. It's about a $30 ride up as everything in Banff is expensive, so naturally we chose to walk up and get the free ride down, some would say cheap and thrifty, I prefer tough and manly.
We move up on to Sunshine mountain on Monday and I start work on Tuesday. I can't wait as its now been about a month since I had an income. Still no serious snow after a promising start to the week but our fingers remained crossed. It was karaoke night last night which is always a goody, I'm pleased to report that I did not sing the gambler and Anna did not knock anything over, all in all a successful night. We have picked up bedding for free from a Welsh guy named Dave (dy) we met through our roomies, Floss and Cath. Yes Floss is a man and he was in the Marines so don't laugh!! Dave the Welshman is potentially the nicest guy we have ever met (apart from you Mitch), he has the best accent we found ourselves just listening to him without actually hearing the words. Anna has been a little stressed with her new job as it seems to be highly unorganized, but lets face it, if things aren't listed alphabetically Anna becomes irritable. I'm sure things will all work themselves when the mountain opens and I love and admire her dedication to the cause, the little poppet.
If you would like to see where we will be living and working you can go to skibanff.com and look at the Sunshine Ski Village in particular.

Oh and any suggestions for a halloween costume would be much appreciated

I hope everyone is well and our love to you all

Till next time...

Hey team

Good to hear everything's going well. Sounds like things sorted themselves out nicely with jobs, accomodation etc.

Its good fun seeing other parts of the world aye. You must be loving it.

Haha, I can imagine you'd make a good house husband John. Mountain climbing sounds like good times. Was that just to boost the testoserone levels after being stuck inside doing the ironing and dusting?

Not much changes over here. Training is ticking along, and the countdown is on. Cant wait till March to actually have a break.

Went down south for Damo's wedding on the weekend. Pretty surreal really when it was all actually happening, but great day. Weather was a bit average, but had the ceremony on the beach at Kaiteriteri, then reception in the bustling metropolis of Motueka.

Keep the blogs coming, you little bloggers you!

Catch up with you later
