You all guessed it, Anna was the winner by about half a second. All my money was on her too, she turned out to be a safe bet. Steve did improve his skiing though, he even looked fairly comfortable in the powder at Fernie. Believe it or not. Our road trip was a great adventure, we were lucky to get a good combination of fresh snow and bright blue sunny days. It started with Kicking Horse in Golden, where the snow was a little hard and icy but the terrain was the most challenging of the trip. We then moved on 3 hours south to Fernie where we had a powder day on day one and bluebird on day two. You couldn't have scripted it better than that. Being the first on the mountain on day two saw us get first tracks from the top of the 'Lift Face' t-bar (at 5,900 feet) which drops you into the 'Lizard Bowl'. The combination of steep terrain, fresh snow, beautiful scenery and good company made this the best riding I have ever done, love Fernie. We also found this awesome Mexican restaurant called El-Guapos, they had connect four at the tables and served $4.25 Mexican branded beer which helped to sooth any aches and pains from a hard days skiing.
We are now looking forward to the spring skiing where the temperature actually gets above zero and we can wear a t-shirt while out on the slopes. Can't wait.
Take care
