Hello all,
It has been a while, I know, but the truth is nothing much has been happening up here. I will however attempt to create interesting stories out of the mundane. I spent the first 48-60 hours after we returned from Fernie in bed sick. I pride myself on being the type who doesn’t get sick, the one who gets better by drinking lots of water and going for a run but this was a bad case of the flu and I embraced every over the counter drug Anna, or anyone else could throw at me. Night times were spent in a sweaty slumber, mornings were spent avoiding the sweat patch and day time consisted of drug induced drooling in front of the tele. Not a pretty sight.
The good news is Anna and I have a date for the start of our next adventure! May the 1st will be our last day working at Sunshine and we will be in Vancouver on May 4th. There is the dread of the 16 hour bus ride from Banff to Vancouver but we can’t wait to have a change of pace. You’ll be surprised to here I am having a bit of trouble deciding where to go for a holiday following the ski season. I’m sure we’ll work something out though.
Anna spent the day snowboarding last week and you'll be pleased to know there were no broken bones. By the end of the day she was linking her turns together and getting down the mountain no worries. We are still waiting for the 'spring skiing' everyone keeps talking about. -10 is still freezing to me reguardless of how sunny it is. We skied and boarded some back country terrain yesterday. It sounds a lot more extreme than it actually is, we only hiked for about 10 minutes then dropped into a valley called backdoor. I took some really nice photos, put the camera back in my pocket, forgot to zip it up and lost it during the run. Oh no, John is in trouble. It's o.k though the story does have a happy ending. We hiked out to the same spot, followed my run and sure enough there it was sitting in the snow saying 'tricked you'.
That really is all I have to update you on.
Take care
