6am! What!

So, the rumours are true, I have a 3 month contract that will see me through till the end of our Canadian experience. Yay. They must have hired me for my looks because I do not know the first thing about writing contracts for utilities in the generation of electricity, and they knew it. However, I am learning a lot and learning it fast. It's great to be free from the unpredictable nature of temp work through recruitment agencies. If you have ever supported the Warriors you will understand the experience of temp work; They promise so much on paper but deliver so little on the day. (Apologies to the devoted fans but you know it's true)

Today I went on a trip to Fort St John (North west of Endmonton) to see a dam. I have always considered myself to be saintly but now it has been confirmed. There is a whole town named after the saint that carries my name. A hick townbut a town all the same. The trip was full of cool boys stuff like generators and motors, all of which was lost on Anna when I tried to show her the photo's.

I have decided that travelling to for an hour each day on public transport allows for far too much thinking time. lately my mind has been consumed by all those changes that occur when you are in a long term relationship. Suddenly you are not the person you used to be, I will explain with examples:

The new John:
All my clothes seem to be brown

The old John:
If it's blue it's o.k with me.

The new John:
I'll have a latte please

The old John:
$3.50! for milk and coffee!

The new John:
All my undies are new

The old John:
'Anna, have you seen old blues?'

The best thing about this story is that brown is the new black, I love Lattes and very rarely go a day with out one, and we never found old blues...if you see them approach with caution.

There are plenty more examples, and I know you all have some of your own, but at the moment I am a little tired from a very long day and really need to get some sleep.

Good night
