The sun is still shining and all is well. Anna, Rahana, Kyle, Matt and me bit the bullet on the weekend and climbed the aptly named 'Grouse Grind.' Matt scored high distinction with his time of 49 minutes while the rest of us came in at a comfortable 1 hour 20 minutes. The easiest way to descibe it is to lay out some facts:
Length: 2.9 kilometres (1.8 miles)
Elevation Gain: 853 metres (2,800 feet)
I forgot, we hired a car and went to Whistler a couple of weekends ago. Whistler is a very cool little village. The mountain there must be amazing in the winter, the terrain is just so immense.
Length: 2.9 kilometres (1.8 miles)
Elevation Gain: 853 metres (2,800 feet)
Summit: 1,127 metres (3,700 feet)
Course Record: The unofficial record was set by a fellow Kiwi at a meandering 24:22, set by Jonathan Wyatt. It's only unofficial because it wasn't set during the annual organised race event.

The summit exposed itself as a land of real men, blokes strolled past with eagles on there arms, others were sawing great big logs of timber (not wood, timber) with only their bare hands and a hand saw. Then the ultimate in shear brute strength, a couple of grown grizzly brothers lived up there. They are amazingly strong animals, how ever big you think they are, times that by two.
Sunday was spent at our new regular, 'Subeez Cafe.' It has become a bit of a ritual for a group of us to meet there on Sunday morning, discuss the week that was and head off again to enjoy, what has been so far, a sunny sunday afternoon at the beach.
This weekend: Kayaking at Deep Cove. Love Vancouver.
This is Ra, Matt and me doing something.
