Anna and I landed a job in the French Alps in a little town called Chamonix. The role will consist of being at the beck and call of paying guests at our Chalet. We will be known as Chalet Hosts working for a small privately owned company.
So we will bid London farewell on the 5th of November as we set forth towards yet another winter in the snow. I think if you are going to endure a cold European winter you might as well do it on skis in the French Alps, grinning.
London has been good to us. Anna and I have been visiting London icons and attractions based on one pre-requisit only...it's free! Which actually does not limit you too much. We have visited
- The National Gallery and walked right passed 'Madonna on the Rocks' without realising,
- The Imperial War Museum,
- The British Museum,
- Trafalgar Square,
- Buckingham Palace changing of the guards.
- St Pauls Cathedral,
- The Tate Modern Art Museum,
- Parliment Hill,
- Portobello Markets
- Camden Markets
- London Tower (not free unless you know the right people) and
- Lords (not free and I didn't know the right people but was happy to pay because it was so cool).
So you can see we have been very busy becoming citizens of greater cultural awareness. There is always something going on in London and I can see why so many people love it. It is tough to resist the temptation of the great pub life where we have spent a bit of time becoming citizens of lesser spatial awareness. Probably the best thing about being here is the oppurtunity to catch up with old friends and family who we have not seen in years. We now have some time to kill before heading south so will do a little trip around the south west of Britain.
Au Revoir
