Annecy

Darwinism at its most obscure. This is my favourite photo from Annecy, there is nothing quite like a swans bum looking like a buoy for a good giggle.

Cheese!

What can I say...Annecy

Strolling the streets

Cards and scrabble were put on hold for the day and Anna and I drove an hour to Annecy. It was a perfect day trip for a couple of kiwis with nothing better to do. Being Autumn it was a little brisk and the streets were very quiet but it is a great little town.

Annecy is a stereotypical French town. Very quaint and very pastel, the old part of the town is something quite special. You really feel you have landed right in the heart of French civilisation. It is no surprise the Tour de France have chosen this little town to host a time trial stage in the 2009 race.
Back in Chamonix it has snowed about 30 cm`s in 24 hours. Winter is well and truly upon us and Chamonix has transformed into a winter wonderland overnight.
