Anna and I are really in the swing of things now, the ship is sailing smoothly you might say. Free time is expanding at an exponential rate as we become increasingly efficient with our daily chores. More free time means more ski time and we are improving with every turn. We received about 2 meters of fresh snow over the week, creating some of the best conditions yet.
Our guests were as lovely as ever. Without wishing to devalue to quality of our previous guests, I think this week’s group were the best yet. We really enjoyed their company and hours spent working were really hours spent socialising with our new friends. I took a couple of the guys skiing at Les Grand Montets on my day off and showed them around the mountain, to which they kindly expressed their appreciation in amber currency during a spot of après ski. We now accept credit card, cash or beer.
The group were all of different skiing abilities ranging from ‘I can NOT do it’ to ‘I can’t stand watching you NOT do it anymore’. So, a note to any prospective ski holiday makers; if the group have varying levels of ability, don’t try to ski together. Arrange to meet during the day for sure but don’t think you are doing any favours by skiing beside your rookie friend yelling ‘bend your knees’ or ‘that’s ok, up you get’.
The most amusing story of the week, one that had Anna and I in stitches, was hearing about one of our four year old boys forgetting to let go of the rope on a drag lift. He held on so tight that he was lifted 2 meters off the ground before responding to his Dads pleas of ‘LET GO!’ and crashing into protective mats.
