It was hard to get up for this week, I like to use a sporting analogy; 'well, ahhh, obviously we gave it our all last week and perhaps were a bit flat this week, the boys gave it everything aye but just didn't have enough fuel in the tank. Cheers.'
You may also compare it to parenting where the second child never quite gets the same attention as the first (with the exception of my family where the middle child was lavished with love and attention equal to that of his siblings.) In short, we did not feel the same affection towards week two's punters. However, being the consummate professionals we are, Anna and I ensured everyone was well fed, laughed alot and had an enjoyable experience.
The whole week can be summed up with this little story: Anna and one of the guests were waiting in a slow moving line to amend a lift pass when Anna quipped, 'Gee, it's like waiting at a bank. They have the worst customer service.' To which the Guest dryly replied
'I work in a bank.' Great! talk about building rapport.
By the end of the week and we had all warmed to each other. Friendly banter was fired back and forth and Anna and I even had the guests going out to the balcony to fetch us a beer. We were also offered hospitality if we ever passed through their home towns.
Again, a pleasurable experience and we were treated to polite, thankful guests.
I'm off for a ski, Au reviour.
