Sara and Gail in Old Argentiere
Firstly I must apologise for the tardiness of my entries of late but chalet life can be demanding. The last three weeks have been a blur of work, ski, sleep and Greys Anatomy seasons 1 & 2. The winter season is rapidly coming to an end and I don't even know what day it is.
Gail and Sara stopped by for 5 days while on their holiday through Europe. The two would attest to things getting off to a great start as they swooned over the handsome Irish lad who escorted them from the airport to us in Argentiere. Anna and I managed our work load to allow time to be spent catching up on the past 18 months which was great. Their time here was packed with activities; Gail and Sara were in Switzerland one day, Italy the next then they said goodbye and caught a train to Paris for lunch, very nice. We thoroughly enjoyed their company and will look back on those few days very fondly.
The winter snow is subsiding at an alarming rate, temperatures are consistently into the positives and snow no longer greets us at our doorway. While it is refreshing to have a change in season, the arrival of spring does bring with it a new set of obstacles. I will explain; the retreating snow has begun to reveal items previously concealed under layers of ice and snow, of particular interest to pedestrians are the numerous (and remarkably well preserved) doggy poops that litter the walking paths. You`d think you were back stage at the Crufts dog show as you are forced to play hop scotch along our local walking paths, all while cursing dog food for being so high in fibre.
With travel plans made for our next destination it is hard not to wish this time away in our eagerness for new adventures. However, we will enjoy the spring skiing conditions which lend themselves so well to long lunches in the sun and good après ski, we may even throw in a good old barbeque or two during the next month...I will keep you posted.
